International Mother Language Day - Our Pride

The decision to observe 21st February as the International Mother Language Day was unanimously taken at the 30th General Conference of the UNESCO held on November 17, 1999. But at Bangladesh We celebrate this day from 1953. Starting from 21st February 1953, the immortal 21st February has been observed as a great national event all over Bangladesh.

It is a great achievement on the part of Bangladesh. Probably nothing equally great has been achieved after the Independence war. The International Mother Language Day is not only for Bangladesh, rather it is for all speakers of all languages all over the world. In spite of that, Bangladesh cannot but feel proud when 21st February has been chosen as the International Mother Language Day.

In the world’s history, no other nation has had to struggle so much, shed so much blood, to be able to hang onto their right to speak their Mother Tongue.

I’m proud to be a Bangali.I like to introduce my first language as Bangla. Thats why at 21st February we present with bare fooded from very morning we sang song

” আমার ভাই এর রকে্ত রাঙ্গােনা একুেশ ফেব্রুয়ারী

আি ম ি ক ভুিলেত পাির। “.

Yeh its our Pride. Pride for all Bangladeshi.
